1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy (hereinafter "the Policy") describes how the Patrivox platform (hereinafter "the Platform"), published by Sébastien Fouss (hereinafter "the Publisher"), uses cookies and similar technologies when you access our website and services.
This Policy complements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. It is established in accordance with European Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy Directive), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – Regulation EU 2016/679), and the Belgian law of June 13, 2005 on electronic communications.
These provisions are written in French. In the event of translation into another language, only the French version shall be authoritative.
2. What is a cookie?

Should analytics tools be integrated in the future, this Policy will be updated and User consent will be obtained prior to placing any analytics cookies.
3.4 Third-party and advertising cookies
The Platform does not use any advertising or targeting cookies. No third-party cookies are placed for profiling or targeted advertising purposes.
Should third-party cookies be integrated in the future (for example, for payment or support service integration), this Policy will be updated accordingly and User consent will be obtained beforehand.
4. Legal basis and consent
4.1 Cookies and technologies exempt from consent
Cookies and storage technologies strictly necessary for the operation of the Service (section 3.1) are placed based on the Publisher's legitimate interest and technical necessity. In accordance with Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, these cookies do not require User's prior consent.
4.2 Cookies and technologies requiring consent
Functional cookies and technologies (section 3.2) are only placed or activated after obtaining User's free, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent, via the cookie management banner displayed on first visit.
Users may modify or withdraw their consent at any time via the "Manage cookies" link accessible in the Platform footer.
4.3 Proof of consent
The Publisher maintains timestamped proof of User consent in accordance with GDPR requirements. Consent is renewed every twelve (12) months.
5. Cookie management
5.1 Consent banner
On first visit to the Platform, a cookie management banner is displayed. This banner allows Users to accept or reject functional cookies. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled.
5.2 Browser settings
Users can also configure their browser to accept or reject cookies, be notified when a cookie is placed, or delete existing cookies. Configuration methods vary by browser:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy and Security
- Apple Safari: Preferences > Privacy
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
5.3 Consequences of rejection
Rejecting functional cookies does not prevent use of the Platform but may degrade user experience: display preferences (theme, sort, interface state) will not be stored between sessions and will need to be reconfigured on each visit.
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be rejected as they are essential for Service operation, particularly for authentication.
6. Data transfers and European sovereignty
In accordance with Patrivox's European sovereignty strategy, no data collected via cookies or storage technologies is transferred outside the European Economic Area. All data is processed and stored on infrastructure hosted in the European Union.
Should an audience analytics solution be integrated that involves transfer outside the EEA, the Publisher undertakes to implement appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses, adequacy decision) or to favor a European alternative.
7. Retention period
Cookie retention periods are indicated in the tables in section 3. Session cookies and sessionStorage content are deleted when the browser is closed. Persistent cookies and localStorage content are retained for the indicated duration or until manual deletion by the User.
8. Security
Authentication cookies (Better Auth) use the Secure flag in production, ensuring transmission only via encrypted connections (HTTPS). No sensitive data is stored in localStorage or sessionStorage.
9. Changes to the Cookie Policy
The Publisher reserves the right to modify this Policy at any time, particularly in case of new features, new cookies, or new storage technologies. Any substantial modification will be brought to Users' attention by updating the revision date and, where applicable, by obtaining new consent.
